JSW Energy Limited announced the exercise of its call option to acquire the remaining 26% equity stake in JSW Mahanadi Power Company Limited (JMPCL). This transaction completes the acquisition of the entity’s equity shareholding, following a prior transaction involving the 74% stake.The action was taken by the company via a notice dated April 9, 2026. This acquisition of the balance 26% equity shareholding is in accordance with the Approved Resolution Plan and the Securities Holders' Agreement dated March 6, 2025. The latter agreement was executed with IDBI Trusteeship Services Limited, which represents the erstwhile financial creditors of JMPCL.
Earlier, the company had provided intimation on March 6, 2025, concerning the acquisition of the 74% equity stake in JSW Mahanadi Power Company Limited (JMPCL), formerly known as KSK Mahanadi Power Company Limited, as part of the implementation of the Resolution Plan approved by the Hon'ble National Company Law Tribunal, Hyderabad Bench.
The core business development involves JSW Energy Limited acquiring the full equity participation in JMPCL.
