JSW Energy Completes Acquisition of Maruti Clean Coal & Power Limited, Boosting Installed Capacity to 14,835 MW
JSW Energy Limited has successfully completed the acquisition of 100% equity in Maruti Clean Coal & Power Limited (MCCPL), making MCCPL a wholly-owned subsidiary. The transaction significantly enhances JSW Energy’s operational footprint, raising its total installed capacity to 14,835 MW.The acquisition targets the 300 MW thermal power plant operated by MCCPL located at Korba in Chhattisgarh. This completed deal reinforces JSW Energy's commitment to disciplined growth and value-accretive opportunities, complementing the existing generation portfolio through operational synergies between the asset and the company’s Mahanadi facility.
JSW Energy reported that the acquired asset holds a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) of 195 MW (net) with various Rajasthan discoms, routed via PTC India, which has a residual PPA life of approximately 14 years. Furthermore, MCCPL provides 5% power at variable cost to the Chhattisgarh discom, while an additional ~64 MW capacity is sold in the merchant market.
