IRB Group's Toll Revenue Jumps 25% Year-on-Year in May 2026

The IRB Group, comprising IRB Infrastructure Developers Ltd and its sponsored InvITs, has reported a significant increase in gross toll revenue for May 2026 compared to the previous year. The combined entities saw a rise of approximately 25%, driven by traffic growth across their extensive road portfolio.

For the month of May 2026, the Group registered a total Toll Revenue of Rs 8,427 million (Rs 843 Crs). This performance contrasts with the revenue of Rs 6,725 million (Rs 672 Crs) recorded in May 2025.

Commenting on this robust growth, Shri Amitabh Murarka, Deputy CEO of IRB Infrastructure Developers Limited, stated that the increased toll revenue reflects continuous traffic growth across their assets. He attributed this to a strong economy and support from tolling commencements on newly operational infrastructure projects, despite rising inflation due to geopolitical unrest. Mr Murarka expressed confidence in sustaining the growth momentum in the coming months.

Group Strategy and Portfolio Status

The IRB Group, noted as India's leading and largest integrated infrastructure asset platform in the roads and highways sector, currently manages a portfolio of 28 revenue-generating highway assets spanning across 13 Indian states. These assets account for approximately one-tenth of India's total toll revenue, with an estimated 1.5 million vehicle crossings daily.

The Group is reported to have completed its asset creation phase and has transitioned into a cash harvesting phase. This transition is supported by the InvIT monetization strategy and sponsor led operating leverage. The portfolio boasts a weighted average residual concession life of approximately 21 years, providing strong visibility of long term cash flows through predictable toll revenues, recurring O&M income, and growing InvIT distributions.

The Group maintains a roadmap to expand its asset base to approximately Rs 1,400 billion by FY2029 through an asset churn strategy, reinvesting proceeds into new opportunities for sustainable growth and long-term value creation.

IRB Stock Price Movement
