The appointment is effective from June 7, 2026.Mr. Dastrala's appointment comes following a career history marked by deep involvement in technology innovation and leadership roles across various sectors. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), providing him with a strong foundation in systems thinking and problem-solving rigor.
His professional journey spans nearly two and a half decades, beginning at the Vellore Institute of Technology where he developed an early interest in software development and Artificial Intelligence. In the early 2000s, Deepak served as part of the Platform Engineering team at Premier Technology / EZ Data, building CRM tools for insurance advisors before learning lessons in agility when the business transitioned to a SaaS model.
Mr. Dastrala then contributed significantly to product development in the insurance sector during his tenure at Ebix. He joined Intellect Design Arena in 2011, an early phase when the company was pivoting from Polaris Financial Technology towards an IP-first and product-focused strategy. Through several roles within the organization, he advanced through leadership positions, eventually rising to Partner and EVP before becoming Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at IntellectAI.
Under his leadership, over a decade of research and development culminated in the creation of Purple Fabric, which is described as Intellect Design Arena's flagship platform designed to elevate enterprise AI adoption within financial institutions. Purple Fabric currently serves some of the world’s most demanding financial institutions, including one of the largest sovereign wealth funds globally, aiding real-time investment decisions.
