Indian Railways has approved a critical infrastructure enhancement project targeting the Mahbubnagar-Secunderabad-Medchal section of the South Central Railway. The initiative involves upgrading the existing 1x25 kV electric traction system to a modern 2x25 kV standard across approximately 141 route kilometres. This significant investment, valued at ₹285.01 crore, is set to substantially boost operational efficiency and capacity on this vital rail corridor.
