
IHCL Reports 20 Hotel Signings and 11 Openings in Q1 FY2027; Portfolio Reaches 645 Hotels
Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality company, has demonstrated significant growth momentum in the first quarter of fiscal year 2027. The company signed 20 new hotels and opened 11 new properties, bringing its total hotel portfolio to 645, with a pipeline comprising 263 hotels.Ms. Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President - Real Estate & Development at IHCL, noted that seventeen of the twenty signings in the quarter were concentrated across Gateway, Ginger, and Tree of Life. These developments spanned emerging markets such as Bharatpur, Trichy, Sindhudurg, Jawai, and Wayanad, while others deepened penetration in established markets including Mumbai, Goa, Agra, and Kolkata.
Ms. Venkatesh also reported that the Taj brand reached a milestone of 150 hotels with three new signings this quarter, focusing on leisure destinations like Dharamshala and Barapani in Meghalaya, and Kusur valley in Maharashtra. IHCL continues to work toward its goal of achieving a 700-hotel portfolio under its strategic roadmap Accelerate 2030.
Operational Expansion Across Brands
Ms. Deepika Rao, Executive Vice President - Hotel Openings & New Businesses at IHCL, stated that the quarter saw an expansion through 11 hotel openings, increasing the operating portfolio to over 380 hotels across various brands and markets.International expansion included the opening of Taj Hessischer Hof in Frankfurt and Taj Bush Lodge in Greater Kruger, South Africa. Within India, SeleQtions expanded its footprint with two new properties: Ayodhayam in Ayodhya and Bandra House in Mumbai. Gateway also added a hotel in Kandla. Ginger continued its growth momentum, opening hotels in Hyderabad, Agra, Kota, the industrial town of Gadchiroli in Maharashtra, and the historical city of Siwan in Bihar.
