HeidelbergCement India Reports Q1 Results and Confirms Independent Director Reappointment
HeidelbergCement India Limited announced its unaudited financial results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026. The Board of Directors considered and approved these results, alongside approving the re-appointment of Ms. Jyoti Narang as an Independent Director. The Company reported a net revenue of 6,281 Million (Mio), marking a 5.1% year-on-year increase. Sales Volumes increased by 3.6%, reaching 1,299 KT, compared to 1,254 KT in the previous year.
Financial Performance Highlights
The operational metrics showed a mixed performance across profitability indicators. EBITDA stood at 668 Mio, down from 885 Mio in the previous year, representing a -24.5% change. This decline saw EBITDA per tonne drop by 27.1%, reaching 3514 g, compared to 706 g previously. The Profit After Tax was reported at 305 Mio, which is a decrease of 36.7% from the prior year's 482 Mio.The Company stated that the revenue increase was driven by a 3.6% rise in sales volumes and a 1.5% improvement in pricing. However, total operating cost including freight increased by approximately 6.4% year-on-year. This rise was attributed primarily to higher raw materials, power, and fuel costs, which were linked to the West Asia situation. Although this impact was partially offset by improved pricing, the decline in EBITDA per tonne persisted.
Key operational updates included:
- Commitment to decarbonization saw the Company's share of alternate fuels in its energy mix stand at approximately 12%.
- The company continues to source over 50% of its total power consumption from non-grid sources.
- A cement blending and grinding unit has received consent from the Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board for establishment in Dongaliya Village, Khandwa District of Madhya Pradesh.
- As at June 30, 2026, the cash and bank balance was reported at 4,726 million.
