GST Collections Surge to Over Rs 2 Lakh Crore in March

New Delhi, April 1 Gross GST collections grew by 8.8 per cent to over Rs 2 lakh crore in March, driven by tax revenues from both domestic sales and imports, according to government data released on Wednesday.

The gross Goods and Services Tax (GST) collection reached Rs 1.83 lakh crore in March 2025.

Gross domestic revenues increased by 5.9 per cent to over Rs 1.46 lakh crore, while revenues from imports grew by 17.8 per cent to Rs 53,861 crore.

Refund issuance during March rose by 13.8 per cent to Rs 22,074 crore, according to the latest data.

After accounting for refunds, net GST revenues stood at approximately Rs 1.78 lakh crore, a 8.2 per cent increase year-on-year.

Gross GST revenue for the entire 2025-26 (April-March) fiscal period recorded a growth of 8.3 per cent to over Rs 22.27 lakh crore.

Net revenues, after accounting for refunds, grew by 7.1 per cent to Rs 19.34 lakh crore in FY26.
