Exhicon and ICICI Lombard Announce Landmark Initiative to Strengthen Exhibition Insurance Ecosystem in India
Exhicon Events Media Solutions Limited and ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company Limited have launched a significant initiative aimed at reinforcing the Exhibition Insurance ecosystem across India. This partnership seeks to bring specialized risk protection closer to the rapidly growing exhibitions and trade fairs industry. The initiative was officially unveiled at the 15th Conventions India Conclave (CIC), held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The event gathered key stakeholders from both the Indian and global convention, exhibition, events, and MICE industries.
The partnership between Exhicon and ICICI Lombard aims to boost awareness, improve accessibility, and drive the adoption of insurance solutions specifically tailored for exhibitions and trade fairs. This collaboration marks a crucial step toward establishing specialized exhibition insurance as a standard element of professional exhibition management in India.
Exhibitions inherently involve massive investments—covering venues, temporary structures, stalls, equipment, logistics, technology, manpower, and other event infrastructure. These events also expose organizers, exhibitors, and all stakeholders to diverse risks, including operational, property, liability, and cancellation risks.
Exhicon, leveraging its extensive presence across exhibition infrastructure, venue development, and event services, provides deep industry insights and connects with a broad ecosystem of organizers, exhibitors, associations, and service providers. Meanwhile, ICICI Lombard contributes its expertise and capabilities in designing and servicing commercial and event-related insurance solutions.
The two organizations intend to bridge the gap between the exhibition industry and the insurance sector, promoting sound risk management throughout the exhibition lifecycle.
The core focus areas of the initiative include:
- Increasing awareness regarding exhibition-related risks and insurance protection.
- Facilitating access to suitable insurance solutions for trade fairs and exhibitions.
- Supporting both organizers and exhibitors in understanding their specific risk exposures.
- Encouraging enhanced risk management practices across the entire exhibition ecosystem.
- Creating a scalable insurance framework that aligns with the growth trajectory of India's exhibition industry.
M Q Syed, CMD of Exhicon, stated that the company is extremely proud that this initiative was introduced at the 15th Conventions India Conclave. He highlighted that the Conclave, which brought together the entire convention, exhibition, events, and MICE ecosystem from India and globally, provided the perfect setting to introduce this new approach to risk protection for exhibitions and trade fairs.
The Conclave itself was a three-day event, jointly organized by the India Convention Promotion Bureau (ICPB), the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), and the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, with Exhicon serving as the Gold Partner.
