Energy In Motion Signs Deal with CATL to Secure 0.5 GWh Supply of LFP Cells

Energy In Motion Limited (EIM), an associate company of Ravindra Energy Limited, has secured a significant supply partnership with Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL). The agreement covers the provision of Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) cells and battery pack kits from CATL to EIM for use in India.

Under the terms of the Letter of Agreement (LOA), CATL will supply 0.5 GWh of its LFP cells. These supplies utilize the upgraded CB7T0 cell model and the L324D06 battery pack platform. This latest technology is designed for heavy commercial vehicles and features notably higher cycle life and volumetric density compared to the previous CB230 cell model used by EIM. The packs will be configured into 400.6 kWh systems intended for integration into EIM's E-Tractor 4x2 Ashwa series.

EIM is set to become the launch customer in India for this new generation of CATL battery systems. These units will be fitted into swappable battery boxes that have been customized by EIM to meet India’s specific high ambient temperature operating conditions.

The partnership arrives as EIM continues to build out a comprehensive electric heavy commercial vehicle ecosystem across the country, including megawatt-scale charging and swapping stations. EIM's first electric heavy vehicle, the Ashwa 55-ton e-tractor, was launched on August 1, 2025. Currently, EIM has commissioned six heavy-duty swap stations located in the Delhi-NCR region and the JNPA port area, each boasting a daily swap capacity of 840 batteries. The company is targeting 40 operational heavy commercial vehicle swap cum charging stations by March 2027.

CATL maintains its status as a global leader in the industry, holding a 39.2% share of the global power battery market in 2025 and possessing an approximate market capitalization of 280 billion USD.

Commenting on this strategic alliance, Mr. Narendra Murkumbi, Managing Director of EIM, stated that securing world-class battery supply from CATL—a global leader in battery manufacturing—is a major milestone for EIM. He added that the agreement assures the quality, reliability, and scale necessary to execute their network expansion and opens doors to all long-haul commercial applications.

Energy In Motion Limited provides integrated electric mobility solutions for long-haul freight transportation, facilitating efficient and sustainable logistics operations through the deployment of advanced heavy-duty electric trucks supported by batteryswapping and charging infrastructure.
