DMCC Speciality Chemicals Limited, a prominent manufacturer of Sulphur chemistry solutions in India, reported consolidated financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026 (Q1FY27). The company saw significant rises in revenue and profitability, primarily driven by escalating prices for sulphur and sulfuric acid.

The performance underscores the company’s operational resilience during a period of severe supply chain disruption, despite working capital being strained by pricing environments.

Operational Stability and Market Diversification

Bimal Goculdas, Managing Director and CEO of DMCC Speciality Chemicals Limited, noted that the company’s operational performance was a key achievement during the quarter. With approximately 50% of the global sulphur trade transiting the Strait of Hormuz, supply disruptions were severe. Despite this, the Dahej and Roha facilities continued to operate without interruption, allowing the company to pass on cost increases completely while maintaining volumes.

The CEO stated that a portion of the reported profitability reflects inventory gains, which are expected to reverse as market prices moderate, leading to a normalization of profits. The company is managing stretched working capital through short-term borrowings and maintains discipline in its approach.

Regarding product segments, the Boron front met its quarterly targets due to improvements in demand, pricing, and supply. Furthermore, geographical diversification continues to advance, with exports directed towards Latin America, China, and Japan compensating for a subdued European market.
