Department of Telecommunications Extends Additional Charge for MTNL CMD Post​

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Ministry of Communications, Government of India, has issued an order extending the additional charge of the post of Chief Managing Director (CMD) of Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL). The charge, currently held by Shri A. Robert J. Ravi, CMD of BSNL, has been extended for a further period of three months.

The extension mandate, issued by the Department of Telecommunications, ensures that the posts of CMD, BSNL, CMD, MTNL, and CMD, BBNL remain occupied as an interim measure.

The Department of Telecommunications released the order on April 14, 2026, extending the additional charge to Shri A. Robert J. Ravi, DDG, DoT. The extension is subject to the approval of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
