Delta Autocorp Launches 'Deltic Express' 6-Seater EV to Boost Commercial Mobility

Delta Autocorp Limited (Deltic) has announced the introduction of its new electric vehicle, 'Deltic Express.' This vehicle is designed as a 6-seater passenger unit and falls within the L5 category, marking a significant progression in commercial electric mobility offerings.

The launch comes as a direct response to user feedback gathered from Deltic’s earlier 4-seater (L3) passenger vehicles, which have seen strong adoption across Bharat. As usage expanded, the company noted consistent market feedback highlighting two practical constraints in daily operations: limited passenger space and restricted speed, both factors that previously impacted trip efficiency and daily earning potential for operators.

The Deltic Express has been engineered to address these constraints. The move to a 6-seater passenger configuration, combined with higher speed capability and a more stable vehicle layout, allows for better passenger accommodation, smoother movement, and improved overall trip efficiency, aligning the vehicle more closely with real-world commercial demands.

The product introduces multiple user-focused and structural enhancements. Practical improvements include integrated hand support across passenger rows, which enhances stability and comfort, especially for women. Other notable upgrades feature improved seat cushioning for longer rides and a cabin layout that facilitates easier entry, exit, and passenger distribution. Structurally, the vehicle features a metal front shield, replacing the traditional butterfly fascia for added strength, and a hinged movable backrest that can open partially for the easy loading of luggage and small goods. The vehicle also boasts a reinforced chassis and suspension tuned to handle higher passenger loads while maintaining improved ride comfort, complemented by an insulated roof lining to mitigate cabin heat during peak summer conditions.

From an economic standpoint, the shift from a 4-seater to a 6-seater configuration enables operators to achieve up to 50% higher earning potential per trip. This fundamental shift in product strategy directly enhances the viability of daily income. Furthermore, while offering enhanced capacity and features, the Deltic Express remains cost-effective, priced approximately 30-35% lower than traditional auto models. The company is also supporting the rollout with easy retail financing options, structured with accessible EMI plans to ensure wider affordability for operators.

The commercial rollout of Deltic Express is scheduled for the end of the current month, with plans to expand availability across key markets thereafter.
