Cube Highways Trust Project SPV Concession Period Expires; Handover Process Initiated for Western UP Tollway
The concession period for Western UP Tollway Private Limited (WUPTPL), a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) of Cube Highways Trust, concluded on June 23, 2026. This marks the end of the contractual agreement signed between WUPTPL and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).The project involves the BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) engagement for the four-laning of the Meerut to Muzaffarnagar section of NH 334, which was previously part of NH 58, located in Uttar Pradesh. The total length of the carriageway covered by the agreement is 77.8 kilometers.
WUPTPL was established on April 20, 2005. Originally incorporated as a public limited company, it subsequently converted into a private limited company, with a fresh certificate of incorporation issued on March 4, 2024. The concession agreement was entered into between the NHAI and WUPTPL on September 9, 2005.
Following the completion of the concession period and the successful handover process to NHAI, along with fulfilling all divestment and other contractual requirements, a vesting certificate or similar relevant document will be issued by the concessioning authority. This document will evidence the transfer of the Project SPV asset to NHAI.
The Investment Manager is currently evaluating the future course of action for the Project SPV and committed to taking appropriate steps in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and in the best interest of unitholders.
