Crisil Reports Strong Growth in Q2FY26; Consolidated Income Rises 27.6% for Quarter

Crisil Limited announced unaudited financial results for the second quarter and half year ended June 30, 2026, highlighting robust growth across its operations. The company reported significant increases in income from operations and profit before tax (PBT) during the period, leading the Board of Directors to approve the results and declare an interim dividend.

The performance reflects continued momentum and disciplined execution despite a volatile macroeconomic environment, stated Amish Mehta, Managing Director & CEO of Crisil Limited.

Key Financial Highlights

For the quarter ended June 30, 2026 (Q2FY26), Crisil's consolidated income from operations increased by 27.6% to Rs 1,075.4 crore, compared to Rs 843.0 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Profit before tax (PBT) rose 24.4% to Rs 279.8 crore in Q2FY26, versus Rs 225.0 crore in the prior year's corresponding quarter.

For the half year ended June 30, 2026 (H1 FY26), consolidated income from operations grew by 28.8% to Rs 2,133.1 crore, up from Rs 1,656.2 crore in the previous year's corresponding period. Profit before tax saw a rise of 30.1%, reaching Rs 588.2 crore, compared with Rs 452.2 crore in the previous half-year period.

The Board approved an interim dividend of Rs 10 per share.

Business Segment Performance and Strategic Initiatives

Crisil’s diversified business segments demonstrated strength during the quarter. The Ratings services segment saw revenue grow, while the Research Analytics & Solutions segment registered a strong growth of 30.1% on-year in Q2FY26.

The company is actively building domain-led AI products and solutions to strengthen competitiveness and enhance client experience. These efforts led to nine analyst recognitions, including being named a 'Leader' in AI Governance Solutions by Chartis Research’s GRC Digital Resilience Solutions 2025 report.

In addition to core business activities, Crisil Integral IQ saw strong demand for Credit Lending Solutions and Fundamental Research, while Crisil Coalition Greenwich showed momentum in Corporate and Investment Banking and maintained traction in Commercial Banking.

Market Context and Outlook

Amish Mehta noted that the performance delivered growth across both domestic and international businesses despite macroeconomic challenges. He highlighted that as clients focus on GenAI investments, Crisil is focused on leveraging its domain-led capabilities.

The company also offered macro commentary, noting expectations for India's gross domestic product to grow at 6.6% in the current fiscal, compared with 7.6% last fiscal. S&P Global, meanwhile, anticipates global GDP growth will decelerate to 3.1% in 2026 from 3.4% in 2025.

The market for corporate bonds showed signs of strain due to elevated yields, resulting in a 25.7% on-year decline in issuance by value in Q2 2026. Amid this context, credit to large corporates rebounded to 14.4%, while the non-banking finance companies remained a key driver for services sector credit growth.

Corporate Social Responsibility and Franchise Activities

Crisil's commitment to community impact continued through its Foundation activities. Under Mein Pragati, direct community outreach facilitated linkages to an additional 2.65 lakh people via the Sakhl cadre. Under Crisil RE, four check dams were constructed in Udaipur and Karjat, with over 20,000 saplings planted.

The franchise activity remained robust. Crisil Ratings hosted the 4th edition of the Annual Infrastructure Summit 2026, themed 'Anchoring India's growth ambition', while Crisil Integral IQ held the Private Markets Forum 2026 in New York.
