Bengaluru: CreditAccess Grameen Limited, a leading rural-focused inclusive financing platform, announced its unaudited financial performance for the first quarter of the financial year 2026-2027. The company reported significant growth across key metrics, noting that its Asset Under Management (AUM) increased by 16.4% year over year to INR 30,319 crore, while Profit After Tax (PAT) surged by 719.7% YoY, reaching INR 493 crore.

The company's financial health saw marked improvement in profitability and asset quality during the quarter. Total income rose by 21.9% year over year to INR 1,784 crore. Pre-provision operating profit (PPOP) increased by 33.6% YoY to INR 873 crore.

A major operational efficiency gain was recorded as Credit Cost declined by 62.8% YoY to INR 212.5 crore, equating to 0.72% on a non-annualized basis. Profit Before Tax (PBT) grew by 713.7% YoY from INR 81.1 crore to INR 660.0 crore, leading to the final PAT of INR 493.4 crore, up 719.7% from Q1 FY26-27.

In terms of portfolio quality, GNPA / NNPA measured at 60+ dpd (GL) stood at 2.18% and 0.76%, with PAR 90+ maintained at 1.46%. The company also reported robust liquidity, holding INR 3,535.5 crore of cash, cash equivalents, and investments, which accounted for 10.4% of total assets. CreditAccess Grameen Limited maintains a Capital Adequacy Ratio (CRAR) of 24.9%, and its credit rating stands at AA-/Stable by CRISIL, ICRA, and India Rating.

Business Expansion and Strategy​

Management noted that the company delivered a steady and disciplined performance in Q1 FY27. The rise in retail finance portfolio share is attributed to long-vintage, credit-tested customers graduating into secured, higher-ticket products. During the quarter, CreditAccess Grameen completed a private Non-Convertible Debenture (NCD) issuance of INR 425 crore, which helps diversify the liability base.

Mr Ganesh Narayanan, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of CreditAccess Grameen Ltd, stated that asset quality metrics remained within expected ranges, supported by sustained collection efficiency across all operating geographies. He added that these outcomes lay a strong foundation to undertake ‘Project Shakti,’ the company’s transformational journey.

Operations also showed expansion in the branch network and workforce. The branch network grew by 7.7% YoY, reaching 2,276 branches from 2,114 recorded in Jun-25. Employee base increased by 3.0% YoY to 21,981, while the annualised quarterly attrition rate stood at 20.6%.
