Coal production for the month of March 2026 totaled 84.5 million tonnes, a decrease of 1.5% compared to 85.8 million tonnes in the same period of the previous year. For the period of April 2025 to March 2026, total coal production was 768.1 million tonnes, down 1.7% from 781.1 million tonnes in the prior year.

Coal offtake for March 2026 reached 69.5 million tonnes, a slight increase of 0.7% compared to 69.0 million tonnes in the corresponding period last year. For the April 2025 to March 2026 period, total offtake was 744.8 million tonnes, a decrease of 2.4% from 763.0 million tonnes in the previous year.
