CleanMax and Gujarat Alkalies Partner to Drive Industrial Decarbonisation in Gujarat

Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Limited (GACL), a leading chlor-alkali company, has partnered with Clean Max Enviro Energy Solutions Limited (CleanMax) to secure hybrid renewable energy for its manufacturing operations in Gujarat. This strategic collaboration aims to transition GACL’s Dahej and Vadodara units toward cleaner industrial practices.

The project involves supplying 75.90 MW of wind capacity and 84.34 MWp of solar capacity. Under the group captive structure, 100% of the power generated from these renewable facilities will be utilized exclusively by GACL to support its commitment to sustainable operations and achieving net-zero carbon emissions.

The project is being executed across four dedicated renewable energy sites in Gujarat: Kalikanagar, Aji Dahisarda, Rajula, and Ghuntu.

Project execution is structured over two phases:
  • Phase 1 includes 16.50 MW of wind capacity and 21.701 MWp of solar capacity.
  • Phase 2 covers 59.40 MW of wind capacity and 62.64 MWp of solar capacity.

Upon commissioning, the partnership is anticipated to generate approximately 36.9 crore units of clean power annually. This generation holds significant environmental benefits, projected to reduce CO₂ emissions by around 2,64,204 tons per year, which is equivalent to the benefit gained from planting nearly 15.27 million trees annually.

Strategic Importance and Commitment

The partnership underscores a shared commitment to accelerating large-scale industrial decarbonisation in India. Chlor-alkali manufacturing is noted as a highly energy-intensive process, making renewable integration critical for GACL while maintaining operational reliability.

Smt. Avantika Singh, from GACL, stated that sustainability is a central pillar of the company's long-term growth strategy. She added that the partnership enables them to integrate hybrid renewable energy into their power mix, strengthening both energy reliability and their commitment to reducing the environmental impact of their manufacturing processes.

Mr. Kuldeep Jain, Founder and Managing Director at Clean Max Enviro Energy Solutions Limited, highlighted that the deal marks the single largest group captive deal for CleanMax. He added that Gujarat is a key market given its strong industrial base and favorable renewable energy resources, expressing pride in supporting GACL's net-zero journey.
