Bharti Airtel Limited announced that its subsidiary, Airtel Money Limited, has officially commenced commercial operations. The company has been classified as a Type II Non-Deposit accepting Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).The commencement followed the issuance of a Certificate of Registration to Airtel Money Limited by the RBI on February 13, 2026. This development follows an earlier announcement made by Bharti Airtel Limited dated February 17, 2026.
The registration is granted under Section 45 IA of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934.
In relation to the issuance of the Certificate of Registration, the RBI issued a statement noting that while the company possesses a valid Certificate of Registration dated February 13, 2026, the Reserve Bank of India does not accept responsibility or guarantee regarding the financial soundness of the company, nor for the correctness of any statements made by the company.
