Avaada Electro Targets $800 Million IPO as Solar Giant Aims for Massive Capital Infusion

Avaada Electro Ltd., a key solar manufacturing arm of the Avaada Group, is set to file an initial public offering (IPO) that could raise up to $800 million. The company indicated that filings are planned to begin as early as this month, signaling major expansion plans within India's renewable energy sector.

The IPO effort involves a consortium of international and domestic financial institutions. These firms have been appointed to manage the potential share sale in India, including ICICI Securities Ltd., Axis Capital Ltd., HSBC Holdings Plc, IIFL Capital Services Ltd., and Bank of America Corp.

Details of the Upcoming Avaada Electro Offering

The offering is structured to include a mix of new shares and existing investor secondary sales. While deliberations are ongoing regarding the final structure, the company's commitment to this significant capital raise remains firm.

Avaada Electro has a structured filing history for its IPO. Draft documents were originally filed through India’s confidential route in October 2025, subsequently receiving regulatory approval in April 2026. This sequence indicates a sustained process leading up to the potential public listing.

Driving Growth: Avaada's Solar Manufacturing Capacity

Avaada Electro specializes in producing high-efficiency solar photovoltaic (PV) cells and modules. The company currently operates substantial manufacturing capacity, totaling 8.5 gigawatts across facilities located in Nagpur and Dadri.

Looking ahead, the company is committed to aggressive scaling up its operations. Plans are in place to add another 5.1 gigawatts of capacity. This expansion will bring Avaada Electro’s total module capacity to 13.6 gigawatts.

Positioning Among Renewable Energy Leaders

Avaada Electro is joining a growing list of prominent renewable energy firms that are seeking access to India's capital markets through public offerings. Other companies actively preparing for IPO filings include Continuum Green Energy Ltd. and SAEL Industries Ltd.

Furthermore, Sembcorp Green Infra Ltd., Greenko Energies Pvt., Inox Clean Energy Ltd., and Goldi Solar Pvt. are among the organizations currently working on filing their draft documents. This activity underscores a robust momentum across the renewable energy sector in India.
