ATF Prices Surge Past ₹2 Lakh Mark for First Time Amid Global Oil Spike
Jet Fuel Rates More Than Double in Delhi
New Delhi, April 1: Aviation turbine fuel (ATF), commonly known as jet fuel, has surged to a record high, crossing the ₹2 lakh per kilolitre mark for the first time. The sharp increase comes amid a spike in global crude oil prices linked to the escalating conflict in West Asia.In the national capital, ATF prices have been raised to ₹2,07,341.22 per kilolitre, a steep jump from ₹96,638.14 per kilolitre. This marks a more than twofold increase in fuel costs for the aviation sector.
Previous Price Revision in March
The latest surge follows a recent hike in March. On March 1, ATF prices were increased by 5.7 percent, translating to a rise of ₹5,244.75 per kilolitre.Global Factors Driving the Surge
The current spike in jet fuel prices is primarily attributed to rising global oil prices, which have been influenced by the ongoing tensions and conflict in West Asia. The sharp escalation has now pushed ATF rates to unprecedented levels in India.Disclaimer: Due care and diligence have been taken in compiling and presenting news and market-related content.
