The event, organized by the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) and the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handlooms), will run from 10-19 July 2026.

Union Minister of Textiles Shri Giriraj Singh is slated to inaugurate Indie Haat 2026 on 13 July 2026 at the National Crafts Museum & Hastkala Academy in New Delhi. This initiative is thoughtfully curated by the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) and is designed specifically to present India's finest craftsmanship in a contemporary and engaging manner.

Indie Haat 2026: A Showcase of Diverse Craft Traditions

Indie Haat features a vibrant display dedicated to promoting handloom and handicraft products, aligning directly with the objectives of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Vocal for Local campaigns. The event highlights a wide spectrum of traditional artistry from across the country.

Participating in Indie Haat are 48 artisans and weavers, alongside 12 design-led handicraft and handloom brands originating from NIFT alumni. This structure facilitates direct engagement between craftspersons and potential buyers.

The array of crafts on display is extensive, including traditional items such as Gulabi Minakari, Stone Inlay, and Dokra metal craft. The exhibit also features various painting styles, like Pichwai art, Cheriyal painting, and Mysore traditional painting.

Celebrating the Breadth of Indian Craftsmanship

The event highlights incredible diversity across numerous crafts, providing visitors a comprehensive view of India’s artisanal capabilities. Highlights include Usta Kala and Mata Ni Pachedi from Maharashtra, alongside intricate Bagru Block Print and Jamdani sarees.

Other features include blue pottery of Jaipur, silver filigree, sandalwood craft, and varied textile work like Kantha embroidery and Ikat of Odisha. Artisans will also present rare crafts such as Pine Needle Craft and Muga and Eri Silk.

Attendees at Indie Haat will not only view these exquisite items but will also have the unique opportunity to observe live demonstrations of various traditional crafting techniques. This interactive element is designed to deepen understanding of India's centuries-old craftsmanship.
