
MMP Industries Commences Low Tension Power Cable Production, Plans Massive Greenfield Expansion
Nagpur, India - MMP Industries Limited (MMPIL), a recognized manufacturer of aluminium products including aluminium powders, foils, and polymer insulators, has begun producing Low Tension Power Cables (LTPC) at its Bhandara facility. This commencement marks a strategic expansion into the electrical infrastructure market for the company.The production facility in Bhandara holds an installed capacity of 100 MT per month. It is being used to support product validation, customer approvals, and process optimisation as part of a phased commercial scale-up designed to strengthen MMPIL's market presence.
Building upon this initial milestone, MMPIL has advanced its Greenfield project focused on Low Tension Power Cable and Covered Conductor manufacturing at MIDC Umred, Maharashtra. This major expansion is proceeding in line with the corporate roadmap, with construction activities currently underway. The planned manufacturing capacity for the Umred facility stands at 6,000 MTPA.
The completion of the Greenfield plant will significantly boost MMPIL’s manufacturing capabilities and solidify its position within the power transmission and distribution value chain, complementing its existing conductors business.
