Ardee Industries' initial public offering (IPO) saw a robust display of investor confidence as it crossed the 16-fold subscription mark on its final day of bidding. As per data from the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the issue received overwhelming interest, registering a high level of demand against the offered shares.

IPO Subscription Details and Investor Interest​

The IPO comprised a total offer of 5,84,22,516 equity shares, yet it attracted bids for an enormous pool of 95,33,98,999 equity shares by market close on August 7. The overall subscription rate stood at 16.32 times as of the morning session.

Investor demand was notably led by non-institutional investors (NII), whose segment reached a impressive 37.24 times. The retail investor portion also demonstrated strong enthusiasm, with subscriptions reaching 15.74 times.

IPO Structure and Pricing Dynamics​

The Rs 425.90 crore IPO commenced subscription on August 5 and concluded on August 7. Structurally, the offering included a fresh issue of equity shares valued at Rs 320 crore. Additionally, the company allocated an offer for sale (OFS) totaling 1.99 crore equity shares aggregating Rs 105.90 crore, managed by existing promoters.

The price band set for the IPO was fixed between Rs 50 and Rs 53 per share. Meanwhile, grey market trackers like InvestorGain and IPO Watch reported the Grey Market Premium (GMP) at Rs 14 on August 7. This GMP indicates an estimated listing gain of approximately 26.42 percent based on the upper end of the price band.

Anchor Investors Heavily Back Ardee Industries​

Prior to the public issue, investor confidence was already established when Ardee Industries raised about Rs 127.73 crore from anchor investors. This allocation involved 2.41 crore equity shares, allotting at a premium of Rs 53 per share, according to the company's regulatory filing dated August 4.

Several major institutional players demonstrated strong commitment during the anchoring phase. Key participants included Bank of India Small Cap Fund, Ashish Kacholia-backed Bengal Finance & Investment, and Ashwin Kumar Kothari Group's Winro Commercial, each receiving around 47.17 lakh shares valued at roughly Rs 25 crore per allocation.

Other notable institutions included The Wealth Company Alternates Trust's Bharat Value Fund and India Max Investment Fund, which received 37.73 lakh shares each, valued at about Rs 20 crore. Cognizant Capital Dynamic Opportunities Fund and IMAP India Capital Investment Trust's Catalyst New India Fund were also allotted shares.

Utilization of Proceeds and Company Profile​

Ardee Industries plans to deploy the proceeds from the fresh issue with a strategic focus on growth and stability. The company intends to use Rs 220 crore towards incremental working capital requirements. Furthermore, Rs 20 crore is earmarked for the repayment of certain borrowings, while the remaining funds will be allocated for general corporate purposes.

Ardee Industries operates within the recovery and recycling sector, focusing on end-of-life energy storage products and non-ferrous scrap. The company is a manufacturer of pure lead and lead alloys, serving critical sectors including energy storage, e-mobility, automotive, and chemicals industries.
