Government Incentives Support Manufacturing Growth
The rapid expansion of iPhone production in India has been supported by the government’s production linked incentive scheme for electronics manufacturing. These incentives have helped offset structural disadvantages faced by manufacturers in India, including relatively weaker supply chains and logistics networks compared with established manufacturing hubs such as China.
The subsidies have played a crucial role in narrowing the cost gap between India and other major electronics production centers.
