Apollo Micro Systems Awarded Make-II Sanction Order from Indian Air Force for Indigenous Smart Bomb Project

Apollo Micro Systems Limited (AMS) has been awarded a Make-II Prototype Sanction Order (PSO) by the Indian Air Force. This award recognizes the company's established capabilities in developing indigenous Guidance and Navigation Kits, marking AMS’s entry into India’s high-value Precision Guided Munition (PGM) segment.

The project involves the design, development, and prototype demonstration of a 500 Kg Smart Bomb. The weapon system is designed to be released from over 80 to 100 kilometres away while still achieving landing accuracy within 3 metres of the intended target, falling under the Make-II category.

This initiative focuses on the IPREK technology. It converts India's existing bomb inventory into a precision standoff capability, offering an alternative that is significantly less costly than procuring new imported precision weapons. A key technical feature of the system is its integration of India's indigenous NavIC (IRNSS) satellite navigation, making it one of the first weapon systems globally to utilize the Indian satellite constellation at its core.

This empanelment places AMS as a Prime OEM in this critical defense technology segment. The development project falls under the Make-II category, meaning there is no cost obligation from the Government during the prototype phase. However, the government has committed to procurement upon the successful demonstration of the prototype.

The Company's Board of Directors and Management regard this award as a defining milestone in AMS's growth trajectory. It underscores the company's technological capabilities and execution excellence, furthering its strategic role within India’s critical defense technology ecosystem, particularly in advancing the precision guided munition sector, which has historically been import-dependent.
