New Delhi, February 17
The rapid expansion of artificial intelligence across global markets is opening up substantial opportunities for Indian enterprises, with minimal risk of business disruption, according to Ankit Bose, Head of AI at Nasscom.
Speaking on Tuesday, Bose emphasized that the accelerating pace of AI development worldwide should be viewed as a strategic opportunity for India rather than a threat.
AI Expansion to Drive Job Transformation, Not Job Losses
Addressing concerns around employment, Bose clarified that India is unlikely to witness widespread job losses due to artificial intelligence. Instead, he pointed to a significant shift in job roles as AI adoption scales across industries. He explained that while AI technologies are being built across multiple global markets, their successful deployment requires skilled professionals. This is where India stands to benefit.
According to Bose, the country is currently adding capacity to support AI implementation at scale. As enterprises across sectors integrate AI into their operations, Indian professionals are expected to play a central role in deploying and managing these technologies.
India Must Stay Ahead in AI Skills
Bose underlined that AI is expanding at a massive scale globally, creating demand for skilled talent capable of executing and operationalizing AI systems. He noted that India must remain proactive in upgrading skills to stay competitive in the evolving technology landscape. He stressed that staying ahead of the curve and continuously updating skill sets will be critical for Indian companies and professionals to fully capitalize on AI-driven opportunities.
With AI adoption accelerating worldwide, the focus for India, he indicated, should be on capacity building, skill enhancement, and positioning itself as a key deployment hub in the global AI ecosystem.
