Velan Hotels Ltd has provided an update regarding the registration process of its hotel properties sale agreement with M/s J.P. Associates Asia Pacific Private Ltd. The company confirmed that the transaction is facing a delay due to circumstances encountered by the prospective buyer.The asset sale involves Velan Hotels and the private limited company, which is conducting the purchase. Following an initial Asset Sale Agreement entered on January 13, 2026, an Addendum was subsequently executed on April 28, 2026. The original deadline for completing the registration of the hotel properties sale was set for or before June 15, 2026.
The delay in finalizing the property registration is attributed to the buyer experiencing difficulties concerning the unavailability of a key person responsible for the process, who was tied up with another urgent assignment.
In light of this situation, the Addendum to the Asset Sale Agreement stipulated a grace period of 10 days following the original due date. As a result, the completion of the registration of the sale process is now expected within these 10 days from the previous deadline.
