Triveni Engineering & Industries Appoints Several Directors Following Board Meeting​

Triveni Engineering & Industries Ltd. has appointed multiple directors following a board meeting held on June 04, 2026. The appointments included both Non-Executive Independent and Non-Executive Non-Independent Directors. Additionally, the company’s board constituted key committees to support its governance framework.

The Board of Directors approved the appointment of four new Additional (Non-Executive Independent) Directors and one Additional (Non-Executive Non-Independent) Director, with recommendations for a sixth director position. The appointments are all subject to subsequent shareholder approval at the Annual General Meeting scheduled for June 30, 2026.

The Board also formed the Audit Committee, the Stakeholders Relationship Committee, and the Corporate Social Responsibility Committee in compliance with governance requirements.

New Director Appointments​

Four independent directors were appointed to serve a five-year term starting from June 4, 2026. These include Mr. Ashwath Ram, Mr. Siraj Azmat Chaudhry, Ms. Sandhya Vasudevan, and Mr. Mahesh Ram Chand Chhabria.

The appointments for the additional directors are detailed below:


Mr. Nikhill Sawhney (DIN 00029028) was also approved as an Additional (Non-Executive Non-Independent) Director, effective from June 4, 2026, pending shareholder approval. Furthermore, the board recommended the appointment of Mr. Dhruv M Sawhney (DIN 00102999) as a Non-Executive Non-Independent Director, with effect from July 1, 2026, subject to prior shareholder approval and the condition that he be above 75 years of age.

Ashwath Ram: Mr. Ashwath Ram brings over 30 years of experience in the automotive, industrial manufacturing, supply chain, and technology sectors. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from Kelley School of Business, USA. Prior to his entrepreneurial ventures, he spent more than two decades with Cummins Inc., holding senior leadership positions, including Managing Director of Cummins India.

Siraj Azmat Chaudhry: Mr. Siraj Azmat Chaudhry has 38 years of experience in business, including 23 years in leadership roles within industry, aviation services, and agri infrastructure. He currently serves as an independent director for several companies, including Jubilant Ingrevia Ltd., Carrier Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Ltd., Sanofi India Ltd., and Bikaji Foods International Ltd.

Mahesh Ram Chand Chhabria: Mr. Mahesh Ram Chand Chhabria is a seasoned leader with experience spanning over three decades across private equity and investment banking firms. He was the Managing Director at Kirloskar Industries Limited up until March 31, 2025. He has previously held roles at Actis and 3i (a private equity fund).

Sandhya Vasudevan: Ms. Sandhya Vasudevan is a corporate leader with over 37 years of global leadership experience across Deutsche Bank, Thomson Reuters, AXA, and the TVS Group. Her expertise includes financial services, risk governance, strategy, and digital transformation. She serves as an Independent Director on various boards and has been recognized for her contributions to social impact initiatives.

Nikhil Sawhney: Mr. Nikhil Sawhney is the Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Triveni Turbine Limited, which is noted among the world's leading manufacturers of industrial steam turbines. He holds a BA and MA from Emmanuel College, University of Cambridge, and an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Dhruv M Sawhney: Mr. Dhruv M Sawhney chairs the Triveni Group, comprising Triveni Turbine Ltd. and Triveni Engineering and Industries Ltd., which have combined market capitalizations exceeding US$ 3 Billion. He is a noted leader in various organizations, including the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
