ESAF Small Finance Bank Appoints Senior Leaders as Directors Following Board Meeting​

ESAF Small Finance Bank Ltd announced significant changes to its board structure after a meeting held on June 04, 2026. The bank approved the appointment of two distinguished professionals, Shri. Ashok Tukaram Dhamankar and Shri. Hari Velloor, as Non-Executive Independent Director and Non-Executive Director, respectively.

The appointments, which are subject to the approval of the shareholders in the ensuing Annual General Meeting or through Postal Ballot, grant both individuals a term of three consecutive years.

Appointment of Ashok Tukaram Dhamankar​

Shri. Ashok Tukaram Dhamankar was appointed as the Non-Executive Independent Director of ESAF Small Finance Bank Ltd. The Board's decision follows recommendations from the Nomination, Remuneration and Compensation Committee of the Board (NRCCB).

Mr. Dhamankar is described as a seasoned finance and fintech professional with extensive experience spanning investment banking, sustainable finance, and agri-value chains. He currently serves as the Founder and CEO of FinBridge Access to Capital Aggregators Private Limited, focusing on enhancing funding access for MSMEs and agri enterprises. His professional history includes senior leadership roles such as CFO - Financial Services at UPL and Group CFO at Samunnati Financial Intermediation & Services.

In his previous career, Mr. Dhamankar spent over a decade in key finance roles within the agri-financing and collateral management ecosystems at National Collateral Management Services Limited. He possesses expertise in embedded finance, rural financing, ESG, and sustainable finance, dedicated to inclusive growth across agriculture and MSME sectors. Furthermore, he has served on boards including Weather Risk Management Services and Nurture Financial Solutions. Shri. Dhamankar is not related to any other Directors or Key Managerial Personnel of the Bank.

Hari Velloor Appointed as Non-Executive Director​

The Board also approved the appointment of Shri. Hari Velloor as a Non-Executive Director of ESAF Small Finance Bank Ltd. This nomination was made following recommendations by the NRCCB and is set for a period of three consecutive years, pending shareholder approval.

Shri. Velloor is a seasoned banking professional with over thirty years of experience across public sector, private sector, and small finance banks. During his tenure at ESAF Small Finance Bank, he held key leadership roles, including Executive Vice President from 2022 to 2026 and Senior Vice President from 2019 to 2022. In these capacities, he managed critical functions such as credit policy, branch banking, microfinance, liabilities, operations, and HR, significantly contributing to the bank’s strategic development.

Mr. Velloor's experience also includes serving as Zonal Head for Tamil Nadu and Kerala at HDFC Bank, where he drove business growth and distribution expansion. He began his career at Canara Bank, building extensive expertise in branch banking, credit, and international operations. His comprehensive background covers retail banking, microfinance, risk management, and operations. Like Mr. Dhamankar, Shri. Velloor is not related to any other Directors or Key Managerial Personnel of the Bank.
