Cultural Immersion and Governance Exposure in Haryana

The Department of Higher Education (DoHE) is actively promoting national integration among youth through the Yuva Sangam Phase-VI programme. This initiative, operating under the umbrella of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB), facilitates profound cultural exchange and experiential learning for participants from diverse regions of India.

A delegation from Tripura, led by the National Institute of Technology, Agartala, was hosted by the National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra as part of this prestigious programme. The delegates gained invaluable insights into governance and public life during their visit to Haryana.

High-Level Interaction on National Unity

The significance of the delegation's journey was underscored by an interaction with the Hon'ble Governor of Haryana, Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh. This meeting, held at Lok Bhavan, Chandigarh on June 4, 2026, focused intensely on themes of leadership and national unity. Participants discussed nation-building and the critical importance of embracing India’s rich cultural diversity.

The members of the Tripura delegation first interacted with previous Yuva Sangam participants before attending the Inaugural Function at NIT Kurukshetra. The event featured vibrant cultural performances by Haryana Kala Parishad, offering delegates an immersive glimpse into the deep traditions and heritage of Haryana.

Sacred Sites and Heritage Visits

As part of their educational exposure, the delegation visited several key cultural and historical sites. These included the Sri Krishna Museum, the Bhadrakali Temple, and Kurukshetra Panorama & Science Centre (Kurukshetra Panorama and Science Centre).

The journey culminated in a powerful experience at Jyotisar. This sacred site is where Lord Krishna imparted the timeless message of the Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna, symbolizing the essence of dharma and righteous action.

Urban Landscapes and Environmental Awareness Drive

The delegation also experienced a blend of natural beauty and modern development during their tour of Chandigarh. Key landmarks visited included Sukhna Lake and Elante Mall. Furthermore, they toured the Rock Garden of Chandigarh, experiencing diverse urban environments alongside meaningful exposure to governance structures.

Reinforcing environmental responsibility, participants undertook a Plantation Drive and Quiz Competition at NIT Kurukshetra on World Environment Day, June 5, 2026. This action promoted sustainability and reinforced ecological awareness among the youth.

Agricultural Insights and Conclusion of Programme

The visit extended beyond cultural sites to encompass economic exposure. The delegation visited ICAR-National Dairy Research Institute (ICAR - National Dairy Research Institute) at Karnal. They also gained insights into rural economy and agricultural innovation after visiting a rice mill in Taraori.

Completing the itinerary, the delegation explored the historic Taraori Fort of Haryana. The Yuva Sangam Phase-VI programme successfully concluded on June 8, 2026 with a comprehensive valedictory session.

This continuous commitment through Yuva Sangam strengthens the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat. By fostering mutual understanding and cultural appreciation, the initiative champions "Paraspar Sampark, Pragati, and Paryatan" across India's diverse regions.
