India Business and Growth Drivers​

The company reported strong underlying volume growth in its India Branded Business, which recorded a UVG of 13%. The 'Growth businesses' accelerated significantly, recording a 47% revenue increase and scaling to make up 36% of the total India business.

  • Coffee: Coffee demonstrated strong trajectory with a revenue increase of 24%.
  • Tea: India tea volumes grew 2%. Revenue was lower as the benefit of reduced tea costs was passed on to consumers.
  • Other Businesses: Capital Foods and Organic India delivered revenue growth of 40% and 27%, respectively, continuing to expand the addressable market through health and wellness focuses.

International Business and Tata Starbucks Momentum​

The International Business maintained steady growth for the quarter, with a revenue increase of 16%, which equated to a 3% rise in constant currency terms. The USA led this segment with strong performance. In the UK market, Teapigs and Good Earth continued gaining share within the Specialty and Fruit & Herbal segments.

Tata Starbucks also reported positive results, with revenue growing by 11% due to robust same store sales growth. Tata Starbucks currently operates 498 stores across India. The company opened four new stores during the quarter, including two Reserve stores located in Kolkata and New Delhi, which strengthens its premium portfolio.

Sunil D'Souza, Managing Director and CEO of Tata Consumer Products, commented on the results, noting that the delivery of double-digit topline growth translated successfully into a consolidated net profit increase of 29%.
