Tata Communications, a global communications technology leader, and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles (TMPV), India's leading automobile manufacturer, have announced a collaboration aimed at advancing Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) deployment in India. This partnership introduces in-built 5G cellular connectivity within the newly launched Sierra.ev.

The integration involves using Tata Communications MOVE™ Connected Vehicle Platform within the car's N.IO SDV platform. This ensures seamless connectivity and a digital-first in-vehicle experience for customers. The technology deployment is designed to make the vehicles future-ready and scalable for advanced connected vehicle capabilities, supporting AI-enabled applications.

Enhancing the Sierra.ev Experience​

The Sierra.ev is designed to offer customers enhanced safety and improved in-vehicle experiences. Tata Communications MOVE™ facilitates this by providing secure in-vehicle connectivity for content streaming, faster over-the-air updates, and opportunities for users to purchase additional subscription packs.

Furthermore, the platform guarantees critical safety features, including emergency calls, remote support, and real-time remote vehicle diagnostics.
