Leadership Restructuring at Suzlon to Accelerate Business Transformation​

New Delhi, February 24: Renewable energy solutions provider Suzlon Energy Ltd on Tuesday announced the appointment of Ajay Kapur as Group Chief Executive Officer, marking a significant leadership transition aligned with its Suzlon 2.0 vision.

As part of the restructuring, the company has also elevated J P Chalasani to the newly constituted Group Executive Council, reinforcing its strategic leadership framework.

Group Executive Council Formed to Guide Strategic Direction​

In a statement, Suzlon said it has established a Group Executive Council to provide strategic direction and oversee the next phase of transformation and scale across its businesses. Ajay Kapur will lead this effort as Group CEO, focusing on driving operational scale and business transformation across the group.

Additionally, an Executive Management Council has been formed under the leadership of the Group CEO. This council will be responsible for steering impactful transformation initiatives and ensuring sustainable growth across the group’s operations.

The company said the transition reflects its emphasis on structured succession planning and long-term value creation, while maintaining leadership continuity and strategic stability.

J P Chalasani to Play Key Strategic Role​

As a member of the Group Executive Council, J P Chalasani will work closely with Chairman and Managing Director and the Executive Vice Chairman in shaping and executing key strategic initiatives across the group.

Chalasani will continue to serve as a Key Managerial Personnel and will report directly to the Chairman and Managing Director.

Ajay Kapur to Lead Next Phase of Growth​

With over 36 years of professional experience, Ajay Kapur will spearhead Suzlon’s transformation journey, scale its business operations, and strengthen the organization for its next phase of growth.

At Suzlon, Kapur will report to Chairman and Managing Director Vinod Tanti.

Commenting on the development, Executive Vice Chairman Girish Tanti said the company is at a significant juncture as it begins the next chapter of its growth journey.

The leadership reshuffle underscores Suzlon’s focus on governance, structured succession, and long-term strategic expansion within the renewable energy sector.
