ICAI Singapore Chapter Plans to Strengthen Regional Collaboration

Singapore, March 26 – The Singapore Chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is focused on expanding regional collaboration and strengthening ties with professional bodies across ASEAN. Sanjay Gattani, the newly elected chairman, outlined these plans on Thursday.

The Singapore ICAI Chapter serves as a regional office, supporting bilateral relations across the Asia Pacific. The ICAI also maintains chapters in Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Cambodia, functioning as points of contact for members and facilitating coordination with national bodies within the ASEAN region.

“We need to strengthen regional collaboration by building deeper connections among ICAI chapters across Asean and fostering closer ties with regional professional bodies,” Gattani stated. He highlighted the chapter’s ambition to enhance knowledge sharing, create cross-border opportunities, and elevate the ICAI’s global presence.

Gattani’s roadmap for 2026–27, themed “WISE,” emphasizes women empowerment, integrating well-being, sustainability, and the enablement of artificial intelligence. These four pillars will guide the chapter’s programs and outreach throughout the year.

With 27 years of experience in finance and commerce, Gattani, who has worked in India, Japan, China, and Southeast Asia, underscored the importance of nurturing inclusive growth, embracing technological advancements, and fostering sustainable practices. He introduced the concept “Prof-Preneur,” encouraging professionals to evolve into entrepreneurial leaders.

Gattani stressed the need to “sow the seeds” for future leaders and innovators within the Chartered Accountant community, equipping them with the mindset and tools to thrive in a rapidly changing global landscape. He also highlighted the importance of mental and physical wellness as essential components of professional success, urging members to prioritize balance and resilience.

New office bearers elected in the Singapore chapter include Kushal Jaju as Vice Chairman, Nikhil Jain as Secretary, and Ayush Yagnik as Treasurer. Sanjay Gattani succeeded Anuradha Shroff, who led the chapter in 2025–26.
