Star Cement Limited Receives Rejection on Promoter Reclassification Application

Star Cement Limited has received communication from the National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE) and BSE Limited regarding an application for the reclassification of promoters to the public category. The exchanges have disposed of the application following a review of the requirements under applicable listing regulations.

The request, originally submitted on February 10, 2026, sought the reclassification of a specific promoter group consisting of 29 entities. However, the stock exchanges determined that the application was not accompanied by the necessary request letters from the individual promoters or promoter group entities as required by the regulatory framework.

The authorities noted that while the application was based on the Board's independent satisfaction regarding certain conditions, it failed to include the mandatory request letters and rationale from the seeking parties. Consequently, the application for reclassification cannot be considered and has been disposed of.
