Central Bank Interventions Provide Market Support
Despite the currency depreciation, market confidence is being buttressed by measures initiated by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to attract overseas deposits, which have generated substantial foreign currency inflows.Anil Kumar Bhansali, Head of Treasury and Executive Director at Finrex Treasury Advisors LLP, noted that these RBI actions are providing crucial support to the rupee. He added that the central bank seems focused on allowing gradual currency adjustments while effectively preventing any disorderly market movements.
Dealers are closely monitoring for potential interventions from state-owned banks, noting the importance of such participation in smoothing out volatility within the currency markets.
