Chennai: June 01, 2026: Royal Enfield reported monthly motorcycle sales of 1,03,231 units in May 2026. This performance marks a 15% growth compared to the 89,429 motorcycles sold during the same period last year.

Govindarajan, Managing Director - Eicher Motors Ltd. and Chief Executive Officer - Royal Enfield, attributed the momentum, stating that the company is carrying growth into Q1 of FY27 despite prevailing macro-headwinds. He highlighted the strengthening product portfolio with the launch of the Bullet 650 as a key factor driving the month's excitement.

Sales Data Analysis​

The overall sales performance for May 2026 showed strong year-on-year growth across key segments. The total sales volume, 1,03,231 units, reflected a 23% year-to-date increase, reaching 2,16,395 units in the current fiscal year (2026-27).

The unit sales data for motorcycles indicates that models with engine capacity up to 350cc sold 90,784 units in May 2026, marking a 19% increase from May 2025. Similarly, the cumulative sales for this segment showed a 26% increase from April 2025 to May 2025.

Launch of Bullet 650
Royal Enfield launched the Bullet 650 in India, as well as across the EMEA and ANZ regions. This launch expanded the brand's 650cc motorcycle portfolio and is powered by a 647.95cc parallel twin engine producing 52.3 Nm of torque. The motorcycle maintains the iconic Bullet DNA and features signature peashooter exhausts in gleaming chrome.

Strategic Manufacturing Expansion in Andhra Pradesh
The company announced plans to acquire a land parcel in Tada, Andhra Pradesh, for a new greenfield manufacturing facility. The planned investment for this project is approximately ₹ 2,500 crore. This expansion will be implemented in a phased manner, aiming to augment Royal Enfield's manufacturing capacity for future growth.

Himalayan Odyssey and Continental GT Cup
Royal Enfield initiated registrations for the 22nd edition of the iconic Himalayan Odyssey, which also marked the brand's 125th-year milestone. The 2026 edition will feature four distinct formats: Himalayan Odyssey Original, Explore, Kargil Circuit, and Nubra Circuit, continuing the brand’s commitment to Pure Motorcycling.

Additionally, registrations commenced for the 6th edition of the Continental GT Cup presented by JK Tyre. Expanding to eight cities—Guwahati, Noida, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Chennai—the championship will utilize its distinct Pro-Am format, bringing amateur and professional riders together. The event will feature the all-new GT-R750 race prototype in the Professional category.

International Business Growth​

In the international segment, Royal Enfield expanded its presence in several key markets.
  • APAC: During the month, the company introduced the Guerrilla 450 APEX in Australia and New Zealand, and the Goan Classic 350 in Malaysia. Furthermore, five new motorcycles were introduced alongside the opening of a store in Hanoi, Vietnam.
