Redington Surges as Q1 Profit Jumps 77% Amid Record Revenue and Explosive Growth in India Market
Redington shares rallied significantly on Friday after the technology solutions provider delivered a stellar earnings report for the first quarter of FY27. The stock gained nearly 4%, continuing an upward trend that saw it surge nearly 15% during Thursday’s session, reaching a fresh 52-week high of Rs 338.50.The strong performance was driven by massive profits and robust revenue growth across Redington's diverse business segments. The company reported a Q1FY27 net profit of Rs 486 crore, which marks a dramatic 77% year-on-year (YoY) jump from the Rs 275 crore reported in the corresponding quarter last year.
Record Revenue Fuels Operational Efficiency
The earnings report highlighted that revenue from operations saw a commanding rise of 34.6% YoY, hitting Rs 34,922 crore compared to Rs 25,952 crore in the previous year. This growth established the company’s highest-ever quarterly revenue.Crucially, the company demonstrated powerful operating leverage. Excluding exceptional items, profit after tax (PAT) grew at more than double the rate of revenue expansion. This efficiency was reflected in the PAT margin standing at 1.4% for the quarter.
Segment Breakdown and Technology Adoption Momentum
Redington reported highly accelerated growth across its core technology portfolio. The Software Solutions Group led the charge with a 52% YoY increase, fueled by increasing adoption of cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity services, and AI-enabled solutions.Endpoint Solutions Group experienced a 35% YoY growth, attributed to high PC realizations that stemmed from memory supply constraints and stable demand across its customer base. The Technology Solutions Group also saw robust momentum, growing 50% on the back of large enterprise and data centre deals. Mobility Solutions Group registered a 21% YoY increase, supported by premium smartphone demand and expanded retail distribution reach.
Geographic Growth Drivers and Market Penetration
The performance in the Indian market was particularly outstanding. The India business saw revenue surge 63% YoY, while its PAT climbed an even more impressive 60%. This substantial growth is credited to the successful closing of large enterprise deals, increased PC realizations amid industry-wide memory constraints, sustained demand for cloud and cybersecurity offerings, and continued premiumisation in smartphones.Meanwhile, the Middle East and Africa business also delivered solid results, reporting a 15% YoY revenue increase. This regional growth was maintained through steady cloud and cybersecurity engagements despite geopolitical uncertainties present during the quarter.
Leadership Confirms Disciplined Growth Strategy
V. S. Hariharan, Managing Director & Group CEO of Redington, emphasized that the Q1 performance validated their disciplined execution and diversified business model. He stated, "We have started FY27 on a strong note, delivering our highest-ever quarterly revenue and profit."Hariharan added that the significant outperformance of profit over revenue growth reinforced the company’s commitment to sustainable and profitable expansion. He concluded by assuring stakeholders that Redington is strongly positioned through its vast ecosystem of global technology brands and partners to capture accelerating opportunities in cloud adoption, AI infrastructure, and digital transformation.
