
RCF and GAIL Ink MoU for Gas-Based Fertilizer Project in Maharashtra
Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited (RCF) and GAIL (India) Limited (GAIL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) focused on establishing a gas-based fertilizer project. The agreement, finalized on July 29, 2026, mandates the two companies to work jointly through a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV).The collaboration is aimed at setting up a major urea production facility within the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra. This proposed facility will leverage GAIL's existing Mumbai-Nagpur-Jharsuguda Natural Gas Pipeline (MNJPL) infrastructure.
The project scope includes a planned capacity of 1.27 Million Metric Tonnes Per Annum (MMTPA), marking a significant step toward enhanced fertilizer production in the region.
