Business Scope and Operational Presence​

RVNL maintains a broad business portfolio centered primarily in railway infrastructure, supplemented by diversifications into power, energy, and civil works. Railway services constitute 84.27% of the entity's turnover, followed by Energy at 6.32%, and Highway projects contributing 3.69%. Further diversification includes Telecom (2.74%) and Port operations (2.71%).

In terms of GHG emissions, RVNL reported Total Scope 1 emissions of 78.76 Metric tonnes of CO2 equivalent and Total Scope 2 emissions of 12,583.26 MT of CO2 equivalent for the current financial year. The emission intensity (Scope 1 and Scope 2) per rupee of turnover adjusted for PPP was calculated at 12.81 MT CO2e / 10 MN USD.

Water & Waste Management:
Total water withdrawal across all sources for office operations stood at 25,661.25 kilolitres (kL) in FY 2025-26, down from 32,449.10 kL in the previous year. Water intensity per rupee of turnover was 0.71 kL / Crore Rs.

Regarding waste management, RVNL generated a total of 33.04 metric tonnes (mt) in the current financial year. The company achieved 32.80 mt through recycling operations, demonstrating a focus on resource recovery.

Social Governance and Stakeholder Commitment​

RVNL’s commitment to social equity was highlighted through personnel policies and CSR initiatives:
  • Personnel: Of the total employees (964), 100% of male permanent employees were noted in the report as being employed in roles that remunerated more than the minimum wage.
  • Training: The company provided training to 837 employees (out of a total of 964) covering various aspects, including Technical Excellence and Safety.
  • CSR Focus: RVNL’s CSR projects spanned multiple states, with initiatives focused on providing livelihood enhancement in Rajasthan, healthcare infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh, and educational facilities across Jharkhand and Odisha. Through a structured ESG assessment process conducted using Planet Sustech’s platform for its top 20 value chain partners, the entity evaluated environmental and social parameters. The average overall ESG score across these assessed partners was reported at 55.61, indicating areas ripe for supplier development and improvement.

RVNL Stock Price Movement​

Despite nearing its 52-week low, Rail Vikas Nigam Limited managed to rally on Friday, with shares settling at ₹225.48 after gaining 0.97%. The equity traded within a tight range of ₹222.1 and ₹226.52, as over 4.39 million shares were exchanged during the session.
