High-Profile AI Gathering Set to Begin Monday​

India is preparing to host the AI Impact Summit 2026, a significant event bringing together global leaders and industry experts in Artificial Intelligence. The summit will take place from February 16-20 at New Delhi's Bharat Mandapam. Policymakers, industry leaders, and technology innovators are expected to attend.

Russian Delegation Led by Kremlin Aide​

Maxim Oreshkin, a senior aide to Russian President Vladimir Putin, will lead a large delegation to the AI Impact Summit. Oreshkin serves as Deputy Chief of the Kremlin staff and an economic aide to President Putin.

Focus on Secure and Sovereign AI​

According to a Kremlin source, the delegation's focus will be on secure, trusted, and sovereign AI. They will actively engage in discussions on AI governance, technology, and partnerships within BRICS and other platforms.

Russia and India Emphasize ICT Security​

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, in an interview to BRICS TV Network on February 9, noted India's emphasis on ICT security, a position Russia actively supports. Lavrov stated that norms regulating AI use between states, and AI applications by individual states, are currently being established.

Concerns Regarding AI Military Applications​

Lavrov highlighted concerns regarding the introduction of AI into military applications. He emphasized that while each state has the right to determine its own approach, some countries are attempting to centralize control over AI use in the military sphere. He stated that BRICS members will not accept infringements on their sovereignty.

India–Russia Cooperation in AI​

In an article published by state-run news agency TASS on Friday, India’s Ambassador to Russia Vinay Kumar outlined the promising prospects for India–Russia cooperation in the field of Artificial Intelligence. Ambassador Kumar stated that the synergy between Moscow and New Delhi in AI would act as a catalyst for shared growth and technological advancement.
