Punjab & Sind Bank Secures IFSC Approval to Launch Global Banking Unit at GIFT City

State-owned Punjab & Sind Bank has achieved a significant milestone in its international expansion journey. The bank announced on Wednesday that it received the necessary license from the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA). This approval allows the institution to establish an IFSC Banking Unit (IBU) at GIFT City, which is located in Gandhinagar.

Expanding Global Footprint with IFSC Approval

The establishment of the IBU marks a determined step towards enhancing the bank's international presence. Punjab & Sind Bank confirmed that this move will enable it to offer world-class offshore banking services on an international level. The specialized unit at GIFT City will serve as a crucial hub for global financial operations.

Catering to International Financing Needs

The IFSC Banking Unit is designed to meet diverse and complex financial demands. It will cater specifically to the financing requirements of corporate entities and financial institutions globally. Additionally, the IBU will support importers and various international investors through its specialized services. These offerings include foreign currency banking, trade finance, and other critical international financial solutions.

Commitment to India's Financial Vision

The bank reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the larger vision of the Government of India. This includes helping develop GIFT IFSC into a premier global financial centre. By setting up this sophisticated unit, Punjab & Sind Bank is strengthening its own international business capabilities. The move underscores the state-owned institution's dedication to becoming globally competitive in the highly regulated financial domain.
