Powerica Ltd Secures 100MW Wind Project Bid from SECI's Competitive Auction​

Powerica Limited has emerged as the successful bidder in an e-Reverse auction conducted by Solar Energy Corporation Limited (SECI). The company secured the bid for a 100 MW wind power project, which was part of a competitive process involving grid-connected projects.

The electronic reverse auction concluded on July 15, 2026. During this process, Powerica submitted its competitive bid, and the discovered tariff for the project was recorded at ₹3.85 per unit. The company expects to receive the Letter of Award (LOA) within the timelines specified in the tender document.

Upon receiving the LOA, Powerica Limited will enter into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with SECI. The company confirmed that it will utilize its comprehensive in-house engineering capability to execute this project, ensuring delivery strictly within the contractually prescribed tender timelines.

Operational Capability and Wind Sector Experience​

Powerica is an integrated power solutions provider with established operations across generator sets (DG sets), wind power development, EPC, and Operation & Maintenance (O&M) services for Balance of Plant (BoP). The company entered the wind power sector in 2008 as an Independent Power Producer (IPP).

Currently, Powerica has a significant operational portfolio in the wind power sector. Its Operational Wind Power Project portfolio stands at 330.85 MW across 12 projects. These operations are supported by long-term, fixed-tariff PPAs with GUVNL and SECI, generally for a term of 25 years.

Beyond existing operations, the company also possesses substantial EPC experience in wind power BoP, covering 12 projects with an aggregate installed capacity of 450.40 MW. Furthermore, Powerica provides O&M services for BoP at 10 wind power projects, which have an aggregate installed capacity of 296.50 MW.

Powerica's broader business encompasses the development and provision of diesel generator sets (DG sets) and Medium Speed Large Generators (MSLG). The company has been involved in the DG set business since 1984.

POWERICA Stock Price Movement​

On Wednesday, Powerica Limited shares edged higher, closing at ₹574.25 after gaining 1.82% from its previous close. The equity settled amidst buying pressure, trading on a volume of 261,319 shares.
