PM Vishwakarma Scheme Ignites Self-Employment in Kathua; Loan Mela Facilitates Credit Linkage for Artisans

The District Industries Centre (DIC) Kathua successfully hosted a comprehensive Loan Mela today, aiming to significantly boost financial inclusion for artisans and craftspeople. The event was specifically organized for beneficiaries of the crucial PM Vishwakarma Scheme.

The program, conducted under the supervision of General Manager Mushtaq Ahmed Choudhary and coordinated by Functional Manager Suryavanshi Manish Bhagat, brought together key stakeholders. More than 80 beneficiaries participated, along with officials from Jammu and Kashmir Bank and representatives from Common Service Centres (CSCs).

Bridging the Gap: Financial Guidance for Artisans

The primary goal of the Mela was to establish crucial credit linkages and resolve common concerns regarding loan disbursement under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme. Officials provided detailed, step-by-step guidance covering the entire financial assistance lifecycle.

Attendees received comprehensive information on both tranches of funding available. This includes Tranche I of ₹1 lakh and Tranche II of ₹2 lakh. Detailed sessions also clarified applicable interest rates and the precise procedures for availing financial support.

Simplifying Digital Processes and Documentation

Addressing the practical hurdles faced by beneficiaries, the session provided deep dives into documentation requirements. Participants were fully briefed on leveraging digital application procedures through dedicated CSC platforms.

The structured guidance helped simplify complex financial processes for traditional artisans and craftspeople. This hands-on approach ensured that the community understood the complete journey from application to disbursement.

On-Spot Resolution Boosts Self-Employment Drive

A dedicated interaction session proved highly effective, allowing participants to raise issues encountered at various stages of the loan process. The immediate coordination among bank and CSC representatives ensured that many issues were resolved on the spot.

This initiative highlights DIC Kathua's sustained commitment to the effective implementation of the scheme. The effort is poised to promote self-employment opportunities and financial stability across the district's traditional artisan community.
