Park Medi World Surges on Massive Growth Plan: Company Outlines Rs 500 Crore Expansion, Eyes Near 5,600 Operational Beds

Shares of Park Medi World gained significantly on Tuesday after management announced a robust expansion plan focused on bolstering its hospital network. The announcement details an investment outlay of approximately Rs 500 crore across the fiscal years FY27 and FY28. This initiative aims to expand the company's operational capacity up to nearly 5,600 beds by the close of FY28.

At 3:16 pm, the stock was trading over 3.3% higher, reaching Rs 299.25. The firm’s market capitalisation subsequently reached around Rs 12,949 crore following the news dissemination.

Gurugram Expansion Details and Immediate Capacity Gains

The growth strategy is immediately actionable through the expansion of an existing facility in Gurugram. Umkal Health Care, a wholly owned subsidiary of Park Medi World, has approved adding 100 new beds to its current 225-bed Park Hospital in Palam Vihar. This project, dubbed Park Hospital Platinum, represents an investment commitment of Rs 25 crore.

The expanded facility is slated for commissioning in November 2026. Sudesh Sharma, Chief Financial Officer of Park Medi World, confirmed that the Palam Vihar initiative will substantially advance the company’s strategy within this critical micro market. He stated that combined organic and inorganic growth projects are expected to commission nearly 1,600 beds by the end of the current calendar year.

Strategic Network Expansion and Future Commitments

The Gurugram move is part of a comprehensive multi-city expansion roadmap. Park Medi World plans further development in its network over the next few years. This includes adding 150 beds at its Mohali hospital, scheduled for September 2027. Another commitment involves adding 200 beds at the Ambala facility by October 2027.

Looking ahead, the company is developing a greenfield hospital in Rohtak with capacity of 250 beds, expected to commence operations in January 2028. The expansion also encompasses critical acquisitions and projects. A 200-bed hospital in Narela, Delhi, acquired through an insolvency process, is set for operationalization later this year.

National Footprint Expansion Targets

To solidify its national footprint, Park Medi World has outlined plans extending into Southern India. An asset light hospital with a capacity of 400 beds in Gorakhpur is projected to become operational around May-June 2027. These additions demonstrate the company's sustained commitment to expanding specialized healthcare access across multiple regions.

Operational Projections and Financial Outlook

Management expects careful management of occupancy rates as new facilities ramp up operations. Occupancy is anticipated to moderately stabilize at 62-63% in FY27, a slight moderation from the 64% rate achieved in FY26.

The Palam Vihar expansion alone is projected to generate around Rs 20 crore in revenue during FY27, accounting for roughly four months of operations. Moving into FY28, this facility is forecasted to contribute approximately Rs 5.5 crore in monthly revenue while maintaining EBITDA margins within the target range of 26-27%, consistent with other network facilities.
