The company reported a modest but meaningful find, highlighting the subsurface resource potential of the region.The field has recorded an inflow of an average of 25,000 SCMD of Natural Gas, sourced from a depth of approximately 950 meters. This successful development marks the first time that gas presence has been established within the shallower Sanu Formation in the Dandewala field, thereby opening up a new play for the operation.
The discovery validates Oil India's strategy of revisiting subsurface potential through focused technical interventions and adopting a 'missed opportunities' approach.
Preliminary estimates, based on structural control, petrophysical, and subsurface analysis, indicate a Gas In Place (GIP) in the order of 75 MMSCM. This development significantly enhances the overall prospectivity of the Dandewala field and is positioned to guide and scale up future appraisal and development efforts for the resource potential and production.
