
NTPC Group’s Installed Capacity Reaches 88,709 MW Following Solar Project Commissioning
NTPC Ltd. announced on March 19, 2026, that its subsidiary, NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), has declared the commercial operation date (COD) for the fourth part capacity of a solar project. The project, located in Gujarat, comprises 165 MW out of a total 1200 MW Khavda-II Solar PV Project, which is operated by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a stepdown subsidiary of NTPC Limited through NGEL. The COD was effective March 19, 2026.As a result of this commissioning, the total installed capacity of the NTPC group now stands at 88,709 MW, with a commercial capacity of 87,629 MW.
Separately, NTPC Green Energy Limited's current commercial capacity stands at 9562.68 MW. With the addition of the 165 MW capacity, the total installed capacity of the NTPC Green Energy Limited Group will increase to 9727.68 MW.
