Paris, March 27: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Friday extended his greetings to Nepal’s newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shisir Khanal, expressing optimism about strengthening the long-standing partnership between the two countries.In a message shared on X, Jaishankar conveyed his best wishes, stating, "Warm wishes to Shisir Khanal on assuming the role of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nepal." He also emphasized his intent to collaborate closely to deepen bilateral engagement.
Nepal’s New Leadership Takes Oath in Kathmandu
The development comes as Nepal’s new Prime Minister, Balendra Shah, along with members of his cabinet, took the oath of office at a special ceremony held at the President’s official residence, Shital Niwas, in Kathmandu on Friday.Following the swearing-in, Jaishankar reiterated India’s commitment to working with Nepal’s new leadership. "I look forward to working closely with him to further strengthen our traditional partnership," he added.

Nepal continues to hold significant importance in India’s regional strategic framework.
