MSEDCL Demands Rs 140 Crore Payment from Eurotex for Multiple Accounts; Threat of Disconnection Issued​

Mumbai: Maharashtra State Electricity Board (MSEDCL) has demanded a total outstanding payment of Rs 140,45,14,608.55 across three consumer accounts belonging to Eurotex Industries and Exports Limited. The notice warns that if the total amount is not paid within 15 days, the current electricity supply for one of their connections will be disconnected.

The demand covers payments related to both permanently closed and currently active high voltage electricity connections held by the company. As per the notification from MSEDCL, the total outstanding amount across all three accounts amounts to Rs 140,45,14,608.55, which must be settled within two weeks of receiving the notice.

MSEDCL informed the company that as per existing provisions, the entire outstanding amount from both permanently closed connections has been transferred and consolidated into the current customer account (Consumer No. 251019402668).

Disputing Claims for Another Plot​

In addition to this demand notice, Eurotex reported receiving a Demand Letter from MSEDCL regarding an alleged wrongly claimed amount in bills raised in earlier years pertaining to their Plot E-23. The disputed claim is stated to be worth Rs 54.28 crores, including interest of Rs 37.48 Crores.

Eurotex confirmed that this demand related to Plot E-23 is unacceptable and has initiated legal steps to protect the company's interests against any potential threat of power supply disconnection regarding Plot E-1.

EUROTEXIND Stock Price Movement​

Eurotex Industries and Exports Limited slipped today, shedding ₹0.18 or 1.40%, settling at a close price of ₹12.69. The stock saw movement within a tight intraday range, trading between a high of ₹12.81 and the final close, with 719 shares recorded in turnover.
